Overview
Our General English Language course covers the following aspects of the language: reading, writing, grammar rules, vocabulary, conversation, and speaking skills. It enables learners to communicate accurately, clearly, appropriately and effectively when speaking and writing English. Learners are also encouraged to read widely, both for their own enjoyment and to further their awareness of the ways in which English can be used.
The course can be used as preparation for the IELTS, TOEFL, or other English proficiency examinations.
Learning Objectives
The English Language syllabus enables candidates to:- Read, and view critically and with accuracy, a wide range of literary and informational/functional texts
- Speak, write and represent in internationally acceptable English that is grammatical, fluent, mutually intelligible, and appropriate for different purposes, audiences, contexts, and cultures
- Understand and use internationally acceptable English grammar and vocabulary accurately and appropriately, and understand how speakers/writers put words together and use language to communicate meaning and achieve impact
